Halton Industry Education Council (HIEC)In 2010, the Halton Industry Education Council (HIEC) is pleased to announce an exciting new initiative, "Men as Career Coaches" (MACC), based on the overwhelming success of their Women as Career Coaches mentoring program. Men as Career Coaches (MACC) – 1st timeHIEC and its partners have built a dynamic networking event aimed at helping young men become better informed of their options in the world of work. MACC will involve a wide range of men from different occupational pathways with the goal of engaging and enlightening young men in our community about the many opportunities available to them. Student participants will range from ages 13-18, and will be pursuing a variety of post-secondary pathways (work, university, college and apprenticeship). Female mentors representing all occupational sectors will act as Career Coaches to empower young women to take control of their futures. Young women need access to adult role models who are willing to share their career pathways and encourage the goals and dreams of youth.
